Chicago's DJ Mother Hubbard and DJ A-Cup return as Moneypenny with the amazing release of their EP called Sides. The EP features the title track (Sides, of course!), and a remix of it by Disrupt the Scene. The song is wicked cool, and makes for the perfect companion to the ultimate Summer of 2012 mix!

Check this out!!! Visit Umbro's website to read a super cool interview with Damon - who does little to blur his love for England (err... I just had to say it!!). Add to it, they've also posted some great video interviews with England legend: Gazza (aka Paul Gascoigne)!!
Link to Umbro's page featuring Damon!

Krewella... DEVINE!
Meet Krewella... a dubstep EDM three piece from Chicago. Their new EP "Play Hard" is absolutely awesome! Here's the deal... Krewella's music slams between frantic and pretty... as the band's token male, Kris Trindl, gatecrashes each track in a hail of wicked beats and hard synths. His collaborators, sisters, Yashmin and Jahan Yousaf, craft fantastic vocals that beautifully weave within the whirlwind of insanely clever electro chaos. I love it!
My personal favorite tracks are:
Alive
Play Hard
One Minute
You can check out their video for Alive below:
Oh yeah!!! I almost forgot... another amazing song you can find on itunes... is a track they did with Adventure Club... the song is called: Rise & Fall.

TRON Uprising : Super bonne!
Tron: Uprising
The must see TV event of the summer!
Techno-color warfare, cyber fashion, and niteglo action... whirls, twists, and derezzes in a world of electro-pixels and synthesized disorder. Tron: Uprising, a TV show from Disney, is a pure visual treat... and features a host of new villains and heroes in the mythology of Tron. The story centers around a young program named Beck who is determined to not let his world fall into the hands of the evil, overlord Clu. In the ensuing "uprising", Beck is faced off against Clu's general, Tesler, and his two lieutenants - Paige and Pavel.
The action never stops, as the story weaves over a binary plain. Beck is a great character with all of the quirks and self doubts of an ancient greek hero, while his primary nemesis Paige is one of the coolest evil villains in Disney's catalog. She's an ice cool character who is determined to bring an end to Beck's "uprising."

THE #1 RELEASE OF 2012, THUS FAR (of course!!)
Chicane
"What am I Doing Here?" / "Thousand Mile Stare"
Ok... two releases are listed here... but deal is: "What Am I Doing Here" is the epic single of 2012. There are killer remixes and rare demos of this song available all over the internet. Released on last year's Giant album, the song should have been the biggest hit of the year!! My recommendations:
What am I doing here pt.1 (early demo male vox) - you can find this on YouTube
What Am I Doing Here? Pt. 1 (Walsh & McAuley Remix) - available on the Trance Essentials 2011, Vol. 1 (40 Trance Hits In the Mix) album
On the other hand, be sure to check out "Thousand Mile Stare"... a sublime trance album featuring so many amazing songs, including:
Three
Sólarupprás (Disco Citizens Remix)
The Nothing Song
Playing Fields (feat. Kate Walsh)
In fact, I found this really interesting interview with Chicane... where he talks about the new album. You can check it out, here!

Emma Hewitt
"Burn the Sky Down"
Without a doubt Emma Hewitt has released one of the most complete albums of the year - "Burn the Sky Down." I can not recommend this release enough. Perfect in every way - complete with electronic dance floor stormers and soft romantic moments. My three favorites on the album are:
These days are ours
Colours
Miss you paradise
Here's a link to the video to her video for "Miss You Paradise"
Don't delay... go check her out!

Nadia Ali
"Believe It"
Another year... and another string of hits from Nadia Ali. Her latest, "Believe it, features a collaboration with Spencer & Hill, and continues in her great tradition of definitive EDM. However, "Believe it" is just one of several songs released in the last 7-10 months. Others include:
"Keep it coming": a collaboration with Starkillers
"Free to go": by Alex Sayz, featuring Nadia on vocals
"This is your life": a collaboration with EDX
"Rolling the dice" a collaboration with Sander Van Doorn and Sidney Samson
Also... be on the look out for her upcoming collaboration with BT, titled "Must be the love"

Ellie Goulding
"High For This"
Goulding seems to be having a really big year. Her single "lights" is getting a lot of US airplay, which is great. But, for me, the most striking song in her catalogue is her cover of Weeknd's "High For This." Epic vocals, and the ideal song for her. I love the original - and I highly suggest that you look the Weeknd's "House of Balloons" - but I have so much respect for Goulding and her approach to this cover. Oh! One more tip, look for the Monsieur Adi remix of Goulding's cover... it's a show stopper!
Oh... check this video out... it's Goulding performing Lights live... awesome!!!
And here's Weeknd performing their song "High for this" at Coachella.

Gareth Emery & Christina Novelli
"Concrete Angel"
Emery and Novelli's single is pure heaven sent. Novelli's vocals are powerful, vulnerable, and the perfect foil to Emery's raging electronic storm. The song is a *MUST* for EDM enthusiasts... and spoiler alert: just wait until the chorus washes over you - mind blowing!
Oh! and by the way... the video is super cool! Check it out here!

"Higher"
Ok... so I'm cheating with this song. It was released two years ago... but, it has yet to be released in the USA! UGH! This song is amazing! Especially the version featuring Flo Rida! Outstanding pop!
Check the video out (which was oddly shot in the USA... but song's not available??? hrmm!): "Higher featuring flo rida"

The Best Of the Best 2011!
#25. Dennis Shepard, "Some Day"
I'm not sure why I liked this song so much this year... but whatever!
#24. Lady Gaga "The Edge of Glory"
I know, I know... Lady Gaga is a bit over exposed (or nearly always exposed!! har har!)... but this song tears it up... and features the best use of Sax since... er... since sax was used in dance music! Oh... too bad the video was tragically horrible!!
#23. Vanbot "Lost without you"
Blazing synths, and terrific vocals... check it out!
#22. ATB "Killing me inside (featuring Sean Ryan)"
Who's Sean Ryan, you might ask?! I don't know! But I don't care... this trax is awesome!
#21. Darren Hayes "Hurt"
My early favorite from his new album... which is just amazing. I'm not wild about his haircut though... perhaps he'll give it "some air" when he tours the USA (please, please, please!!!)
#20. Gypsy & The Cat "Sight of A Tear"
Another fav from Aussie... I absolutely adore them... Unfortunately, their music is hard to come by in the USA! Ugh!
#19. Gareth Emery & Lucy Saunders "Sanctuary"
Just wicked... the most massive trance song of the year!
#18. Cheryl Cole "3 Words (Steve Angello Remix)"
Awesome, awesome, awesome remix... what was Ashley Cole thinking, btw??? Is she not the hottest singer in the world???
#17. Cascada "San Francisco"
Terribly cheesey song, but perrrrfect for long runs at the gym!!
#16. Pitbull "Give Me Everything"
Please pass the cheese puffs! Another epic cheesey gym song... but it is epic in it's awesomeness!! Love the low pitched dude! So much fun to sing along to!
#15. Clancy "4000 Shards (StardonE Remix)"
I first heard this song on The Fear of Tigers Podcast... and I instantly fell in love with it. Awesome house dance song. And the cover for the release is purrrrfection... with the techno-feline!
#14. Nadia Ali "When it rains"
While not released, I must have listened to this song via her video post a million times! And the video is cool too!
#13. Shwayze & Cisco "You Could Be My Girl"
I'm not sure why Shwayze and Cisco are now going by Shwazye and Cisco... because they used to be the combo know only as Shwayze... but regardless, this is a massive song... one made for lazy days at the beach.
#12. Kaskade "Eyes"
Love it! Love it! Love it! Yes, a hat-trick of love!
#11. Patrick Stump "This City"
Yo... this song is made for pumping you up before a big game! Unbelievable that Patrick lost so much weight, since leaving Fall Out Boy. Great work man!
#10. Glenn Morrison "I see you in me"
Mellow trance that I just couldn't get enough of!
#9. Sound of Arrows "Conquest"
The Sound of Arrow's new album "Voyage" is the must have album of 2011. From the initial single, "Nova", to this song, the album contains one-hit after another! Like Darren Hayes, I hope they tour the USA in 2012!
#8. Rihanna "We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)
Until Rihanna released this song, I thought her star had fallen. Her earlier releases this year were just terrible. But then teaming up with Calvin Harris, she scored big with this dance floor monster!
#7. Flo Rida "Good Feeling"
The biggest chorus in all of 2011! Put this song on, and go for a run... and you'll break every running record you've ever set! Awesome!
#6. Sound of Arrows "Wonders"
The Sound of Arrows return to my countdown with my favorite track from their new album. Energy, dreamy, and epic... are the best three words to describe "Wonders."
#5. 009 Sound System "Wings"
My vote for the most unexpected pop hit! Who would have imagined 009 Sound System to offer up a dance-hall-like groove in 2011. Love it to pieces!
#4. Nadia Ali, Starkillers & Alex Kenji "Pressure (Alesso Radio Edit)"
"Pressure" appears twice in this list... thanks in a large part to two awesome remixes. This was my most unescapable song of the year. I listened to it constantly... but it was utterly amazing!
#3. Medina "Lonely"
Hailed as Europe's Lady Gaga... which is more of a diss on Medina. I love nearly everything she has released... and Lonely is no exception.
#2. Visitor "Because of You"
Unavailable yet... but "Because of You" was featured on the Fear of Tigers podcast... and I was hooked. I am so excited for 2012 because this will finally become available!
#1. Nadia Ali "Pressure (Clokx Radio Remix)"
Awesome!!!!! Let's face it... Nadia Ali rules!!! Happy new year everyone!
