Number 20: Emilia de Poret "Weightless (Radio Edit)"

The perfect chill trance song... completely addictive. 

Number 19: Childish Gambino "Heartbeat (Them Jeans remix)"

The original version is a very good track... but man, the Them Jeans remix just awesome!

Number 18: Say Lou Lou "Julian (Monsieur Adi Remix)"

What can I say? I love this song! The Monsieur Adi remix was the best of remixes I got my paws on this year. 

Number 17: Ryan Star "My Life With You" 

Ryan Star is a singer that deserves a lot more media attention. His voice is killer, his songwriting is extraordinary, and nearly everything he produces is aces. "My Life With You" is no exception. 

Number 16: Skylar Grey, "Coming Home, Pt. II"

Just a great song.

Number 15: Emmelie De Forest "Hunter & Prey (live 2013)"

Emmelie de Awesome!! Just listen to her live version of "Hunter & Prey", and tell me ... that you're not smitten!

Number 14: Emmelie De Forest "Only Teardrops (DJ Igor PradAA Radio Remix)"

Emmelie won the 2013 Euro contest with this song... but once again the Gods of the US music industry haven't released anything by De Forest in the USA! WTH!!! Anyways, I had to settle for the DJ Igor remix... but you don't... check out the original here: 

Number 13: Classixx "Hanging Gardens"

Classixx used to be the Young Americans... and a bit of trivia... but my first blog post was to promote the Young American's "Lost World" video... which remains one of my favorite songs of all time. Anyways, in 2013, Classixx released their full length debut... and it was epic. "Hanging Gardens" was on constant rotation... but below, check out them playing Borderline (my other favorite track from this year's album). So good (wicked guitars!!)!!

Number 12: Keep Shelly In Athens "Recollection"

Greece may be bust... but they are rich with history, and with this brilliant indie band - Keep Shelly in Athens! Their 2013 album "At Home" was absolutely fantastic! 

Number 11: Say Lou Lou "Maybe you"

Another entry by my favorites! Crossing a mix of Sade and Roxy Music with a dose of electro cool, Say Lou Lou are destined for greatness! "Maybe You" is the best of their catalog!

Number 30: TwoThirds "Tonight (feat. Holly Drummond)"

Another haunting trance song thanks to Holly Drummond's perfect vocals. 

Number 29: Of Monsters and Men "Little Talks"

The happiest band in the world! What a blast! 

Number 28: Say Lou Lou "Julian" 

My favorite new artists of the year (and yes, I liked them when they were originally called Saint Lou Lou)... but my oh my... everything they released this year was awesome! I love, love, loved this song! Check out Say Lou Lou performing it on the Hurts (yes, Hurts!!) tour! 

Number 27: College "A Real Hero (feat. Electric Youth)"

Not great audio... but such cool little electro pop song. I enjoyed it all year long. 

Number 26: Chris Schweizer "One" 

More trance. More insanity. More fun. 

Number 25: The Naked and Famous "I kill giants" 

I love this band! They ended up with 3 top songs in my top 50. Check out this raging live version of "I kill giants"

Number 24: Ms Mr "Hurricane (Chvrches reMix)"

The combination of up & comers Ms Mr, with the new darlings of indie pop, Chvrches, makes for one of the the most memorable collaborations of 2013! 

Number 23: Robots With Rayguns "Love Is A Battlefield (Feat Patrick Baker)"

When Patrick Baker and Robots with Rayguns collaborate... just know... it's going to be f*cking awesome!! :)

Number 22: Hurts "Only You"

The greatest band in England. I loved Theo's original band - Daggers - but with Hurts, he's in command of the perfect pop band. I couldn't find a decent live version of Only You... so instead, check out their definitive cover of Oasis's "Wonderwall"... wicked! 

Number 21: Tegan and Sara "Closer"

Leave it to two indie stars to write the best rock song of the year! Now for the a trippy experience... check out Taylor Swift performing with Tegan and Sara... Yes, you're reading this correctly! And yes, it's awesome!!!

Epic melodies... and great lyrics... possibly the best proper song they've written! Well done Krew!

Number 36: Koobra "Something Real" 

One of the most addictive songs of the year... video brought to the world on a Nokia phone! DIY baby!

Number 35: Dankann & Antillas "When You Love Someone (Radio Edit)"

Classic Trance... love the builds, the tripping drums, the sweeping synths, and Laurell's vocals. Great stuff!

Number 34: London Grammar "Hey Now" 

Possibly the vocalist of the year! So good! Check out this awesome live performance:

Number 33: Armin van Buuren "This Is What It Feels Like (feat. Trevor Guthrie)"

Who says trance can't rock? Trevor Guthrie and Armin tear it up with this masterpiece off of Armin's "Intense" album. This live version is the sh*t!!!! Explosive!!! 

Number 32: Medina "Addiction (snap mashup)"

The Snap-mash up is off the hook! 

Number 31: tydi "Never Go Back (feat. Brianna Holan)"

Frantic, bombastic, fever pitched... this haunting dance floor rager is the real deal! In the video below... check out the wall of beats and synths that barn storm the quietest moment (@ 1:50).

Moneypenny's Sides

Chicago's DJ Mother Hubbard and DJ A-Cup return as Moneypenny with the amazing release of their EP called Sides. The EP features the title track (Sides, of course!), and a remix of it by Disrupt the Scene. The song is wicked cool, and makes for the perfect companion to the ultimate Summer of 2012 mix!

What's even more cool...  they made the song available for free on their soundcloud page. Which you can visit by clicking here!
